Hymnology: Hymns and Their History

Hymns are a beautiful way to instill a heart of praise, worship, and gratitude within our hearts and our children. This 18-week short study will help you learn and memorize classic hymns and the story behind the hymn and its author. These are perfect cards for a morning basket or daily devotion time. 

Each card is beautifully designed to showcase the hymn on the front and a quick study on the back. You will receive a glimpse into the hymn's history, some information about the author, and a QR code that will take you to YouTube, where you can listen to + watch the hymn.

How long is this study?

There are 18 hymns in this unit. The idea is to really memorize the hymns, studying and practicing one hymn per week making it an 18 week (or approximately 1 semester) long unit. But, the beauty is, you really can make it as long or short as you desire!

 Is this a full curriculum?

No, this is not a full curriculum. It really is perfect to use as a morning devotion time or morning basket style unit. 

Is this for homeschooling only?

Not at all. This is for anyone at any age who wants to learn hymns and their history and grow in their faith. Hymns often reveal timeless truths about God and His character, reminders we could all use. Often, hymns were born out of experience. For this reason, they can be incredibly humbling and encouraging as we reflect on our own life experiences.
