The Great Pivot

What happened

If you've been here a while, you may already know that the homeschool companion resources so many of you have used and loved came down this fall. After copyright concerns were brought to my attention, I promptly removed them from my shop.

These resources not only represented countless hours of work and a meaningful part of this unexpected little business I've poured my heart into, but also met a need for me to bring beauty and practicality, simplicity even, into our then homeschool endeavor.

Though bittersweet, sometimes an unexpected change of plans creates an opportunity to pause, reflect, and consider what might come next.

What it stirred up

I won't pretend it didn't sting. Something I built and loved changed almost overnight. Even now, I feel like I’m still recovering from a bit of emotional whiplash!

But this isn't my first time starting over. The Lord has brought big seasons of change more than several times throughout my life. From struggling with infertility and praying to have children, to leaving a solid income to be home to raise and homeschool my miracle babies; from moving cities to starting fresh in an unfamiliar and new community- every one of those seasons felt like an ending at the time. Looking back, each one was a beginning.

What God has been showing me

"See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?" (Isaiah 43:19)

As we know, God’s Word is alive and active. This verse has a way of popping up through some facet, every time I find myself in a place of change. Maybe it’s age and a touch of wisdom, but this time I'm learning that starting over isn't the same as starting from nothing. Everything God taught me in the last seasons comes with me into this one.

Hope + Home Co. is becoming a home for the whole mom.

Because there's more to you than the many hats you wear, and I want this to be a place that encourages and equips you in every season of motherhood.

Here's what that looks like:

  • Thoughtfully created homeschool resources | Original studies and practical tools designed to make learning meaningful and your days a little easier.
  • Simple helps for everyday life | Meal plans, planners, and practical resources to bring a little more peace and intention to your home.
  • Encouragement for your heart, home, and health | Honest conversations about faith, wellness, motherhood, and growing into the woman God created you to be.
  • A real place to connect with other moms in the same season

And this month I'm doing something a little brave: Hope for November. I'm showing up on Instagram every weekday, homeschool, co-op, soccer nights and all, incredibly unpolished and absolutely imperfectly. I'd love for you to walk with me.

Thank you

To every family who used those resources in your homeschool: thank you. What I thought was me sharing some of my “extra” creations, actually led to a sense of community I never saw coming. You let me into your school days, and that has been one of the great gifts of this journey.

If you'd like to stay close, join my email list and my Instagram broadcast channel, which you'll find on my profile at @kimberlyvieley. That's where I'll share first looks, voice notes and prayer requests.

With gratitude + hope,

Kimberly
